How might we…
… simplify QualityTrades user experience and make the site more appealing to users from larger organizations?
Research
I generated a user flow of QualityTrade’s current website to identify problems hindering the user experience. I then analyzed four QualityTrade competitors to ascertain what features QualityTrade was missing. Next, I contacted people within the target market on LinkedIn for interviews. I compared my interview analysis with the initial user flow and competitor analysis to discover the top five changes that need to be made for QualityTrade to appeal to bigger companies.
Design Decisions
The first thing I discovered in my research was that my interviewees lacked trust in new suppliers. I addressed this problem by making a chat tool with a spot for buyers to see all documents and images in one place to allow easy comparison. I also displayed reviews of suppliers from other customers to build trust. The second important finding from my research was that many companies sent quote requests to multiple suppliers. To help companies do that, I added a compare feature that lets them look at the information for various suppliers and send multiple quote requests at a time. My research also found that many procurement professionals consult experts within their company for advice on suppliers and products. To address this, I added a save feature so users could save products or suppliers they're interested in and ask for advice at another time. I also found that many procurement professionals had requirements to buy from companies that had specific certifications or were owned by minorities. To fulfill this wish, we added the ability to filter by minority-owned businesses, ISO certification types, and the average rating given by buyers on the QualityTrade site.
Interactive Prototype
Figma’s embedded desktop prototypes work better on a full screen.
